BeeBench FAQ
Answers regarding native workload execution, thermal safeguards, metric units, data export schemas, and hardware comparability.
What types of workloads does BeeBench run?
BeeBench runs native C++ and NDK compute workloads designed to test sustained floating-point arithmetic, matrix transformations, and memory hierarchy bandwidth under continuous multi-core execution.
How does BeeBench protect devices from overheating during testing?
BeeBench continuously reads Android thermal zone sensors during test execution. If internal temperatures approach safe hardware operating limits, the benchmark pauses or terminates the workload automatically to prevent hardware stress.
Why do benchmark results vary between runs on the same phone?
Mobile processors aggressively adjust clock speeds based on battery level, case temperature, ambient room conditions, and background system tasks. For valid scientific comparisons, test runs should be performed at similar baseline battery percentages and room temperatures.
Can I export test data for external analysis?
Yes. BeeBench provides structured JSON exports containing the full time-series telemetry of temperatures, throughput, and memory measurements for external statistical graphing.
Where can I install BeeBench?
BeeBench is currently in Android internal testing. A verified public store or tester-invitation link has not been added to this website. Apply for internal testing. Applications are reviewed; form submission does not automatically grant Google Play access.
Can results from different phones be compared directly?
Only compare runs using compatible workload definitions, durations, software versions, and reporting units. Device thermals and background activity can materially change results. The published methodology explains comparison limits.
Why are benchmark run tables not available yet?
The public results repository is being prepared. Data ingestion and publication must be validated before individual runs are shown. No unpublished measurements are represented as verified public data.
Does BeeBench automatically upload my measurements?
The public website does not currently ingest test runs from app users. Confirm export and sharing behavior in the installed build before sending diagnostic files, because exported files can contain device information.
How should I report a benchmark problem?
Provide the app version, device model, Android version, workload name, test duration, and a description of what happened. Share a sanitized report only if you are comfortable with its contents. Submit a BeeBench support request.
