Honey LLM FAQ
Answers to common questions regarding offline AI execution, local model files, device compatibility, and private document processing.
Does Honey LLM really work completely without an internet connection?
Yes. Once you complete the initial download of your selected language model, Honey LLM requires no internet connection whatsoever. Token generation, prompt analysis, and document parsing run entirely on your phone's processor.
Where do the language models come from and how much storage do they need?
Language models are downloaded to your device before offline use. Download sizes vary by model, sometimes substantially; check the size displayed in the app before starting a download. You can manage downloaded models through the app.
What are the minimum hardware requirements?
Android support starts at Android 8.0 (API 26), but local AI performance depends strongly on available RAM, storage, and processor capability. Smaller models may work better on entry-level devices. For iPhone and iPad, the App Store lists iOS/iPadOS 18 or newer. Check each platform’s store compatibility details.
Is any data or conversation history sent to cloud servers?
No. Honey LLM does not operate cloud inference servers or transmit chat logs, user queries, or document contents off your device. All data remains in your local application storage.
Is Honey LLM available for iPhone or iPad?
Yes. Honey LLM has a separate iPhone/iPad version on the Apple App Store. The iOS edition focuses on offline chat and local model management; its features are not identical to the Android edition.
Why do I need to download a model before chatting offline?
The language model runs on your device rather than on a remote server. Download a compatible model while online; afterward, supported chat can run without an internet connection.
Why is local AI slow on some phones?
Response speed depends on RAM, processor performance, model size, and thermal conditions. Try a smaller compatible model and close memory-intensive background apps. Larger models are not necessarily better for every device.
Can I use the same document and Vault features on iPhone?
Do not assume platform feature parity. The Android edition includes document assistance and encrypted Vault functionality. Check the iOS App Store description for its currently listed features.
Is a recurring subscription required?
The public store listings describe a free demonstration and an optional one-time purchase for expanded access. Check your platform's store for its current displayed price and terms.
What should I provide when reporting a problem?
Include your phone model, OS version, app version, selected model, the step that failed, and any non-sensitive error details. Never send private documents, chat contents, passwords, or Vault keys in a support request. Open the product support form.
